The Elmwood - Laurel Waxy Commander (618) Factory Second
Boot and Leather (618 Last)
This model is called the Elmwood and it is our interpretation of the classic Chelsea boot style. The Elmwood is made with Gore-Tex on the sides of the ankles. We use a tighter weave of this material to help keep the ankle in place. This style is made with Waxy Commander leather from the famous Charles F. Stead tannery in the Laurel colorway. Waxy Commander is part of the tannery's water-poof line of leathers and is perhaps the easiest leather to take care of long term. Since the article is heavily waxed, any boot wax or leather balm can be used to condition this leather over time.
Grade
1 - Size 7.5 has bends or scratches in the welt on the surface and at the joint. Size 10.5 has coarser texture from the nap of the leather.
Our build focuses on enhanced breath-ability and shock absorption in a more natural way by using leather components. Additional build information along with cutaways can be found under our Craft + Build section.
